How is Lovelydeck different from Anki and RemNote?

Anki is a flashcard app you fill by hand or by importing decks. RemNote is a notes workspace with flashcards inside it. Lovelydeck writes the cards from your lecture slides, cites the slide each one came from, refuses a card whose sentence is not in your file, and lists the slides that got no card, all before anything enters your deck. It schedules with FSRS and imports Anki decks with their history.

How does Lovelydeck make flashcards from lecture slides?

Upload the slides as a PDF (or a textbook chapter, transcript or notes). Lovely reads them page by page and proposes cards: basic, cloze, image occlusion or fill in the blank. Each card carries the sentence it came from and the slide number; a card whose sentence isn't in your file is refused before you see it. You add, fix or skip the rest, one at a time or all at once.

Does Lovelydeck import Anki decks?

Yes. Export an .apkg from Anki and drop it in. Decks, notes, cards, tags, media and your review history all come across, and scheduling continues with FSRS, the same algorithm modern Anki uses, so a card you've known for two years stays known.

Is Lovelydeck free?

The study app is free with no time limit: unlimited decks and cards, spaced repetition, Anki import, image occlusion, notes, calendar and stats. Card generation and the tutor are included free to start, and Plus is $9 a month when you want them without limits. If you stop paying, nothing is deleted.

Which spaced repetition algorithm does Lovelydeck use?

FSRS, the open-source scheduler that modern Anki uses. It models how likely you are to remember each card and schedules the next review just before you'd forget. Imported Anki review history is used to seed it.

Can Lovelydeck make image occlusion flashcards from diagrams?

Yes. Drop in a figure, an anatomy diagram or a pathway say, and cover the labels. Each covered label becomes its own card: one label asked, the rest stay hidden. Slides that are only a diagram are set aside in the coverage list rather than reported as missed.

Does the AI tutor use my own slides and notes?

Yes. The tutor reads the material in your library for that class, so it answers from your lecture rather than from the internet, and it can quiz you on it. Any card it proposes goes through the same check as a generated card: it has to cite a page you uploaded.

What can I upload?

PDFs of lecture slides, textbook chapters, transcripts and your own notes. Mark the textbook and syllabus as master documents and they're read first. Images for occlusion cards. And .apkg files from Anki.
