FSRS, the Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler that modern Anki ships with. It estimates how likely you are to remember a card and schedules the next review just before you would forget it. Imported Anki review history is used to seed those estimates.
The scheduler is the same algorithm, so intervals behave the way Anki users expect. What differs is everything around it: cards are made from your slides, each card cites its slide, and the slides that got no card are listed before you add anything.
It depends on how many cards you add each week. A deck of 400 cards built over a term settles at roughly 40 to 80 reviews a day. The due forecast on every deck shows the number before you commit to it.
