Cover the labels on a figure and each cover becomes a card. How to make them, how to study them, and why a slide that is only a diagram is set aside rather than reported as missed.
Anatomy is names attached to positions. A text card that asks for the name loses the position; a figure with the name hidden keeps both. That is the whole idea, and it is why medical students have used image occlusion in Anki for years.
Drop the figure in. Draw a box over each label you want to be asked. Save. Each box is a card. Study them and one label is hidden at a time while the rest stay covered, so you cannot read the answer off the neighbour.
When cards are generated from a lecture, a slide that is only a figure has no sentence to quote, so it cannot produce a text card. Lovelydeck does not report it as a missed slide. It is set aside in the coverage list under diagrams, so you can make occlusion cards from it yourself instead of wondering why the lecture came back short.
Make the occlusion cards the same day as the lecture, while you still remember which labels the lecturer spent time on. Those are the ones that get asked.
